Random Math Problems on the net - 2 (Using factorisation)!

Woah! This the part 2!

Try solving this question!

Some prerequisites:

(a-b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab

(a+b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab

(a+b)^3 = a^3 + b^3 + 3ab (a+b)

(a-b)^3 = a^3 - b^3 - 3ab (a-b)

Accordingly we will use the formula:

(a-b)^3 = a^3 - b^3 - 3ab (a-b)

alright so (a-b) = 9

(9)^3 = a^3 - b^3 - 3ab (9)

729 = a^3 - b^3 - 27ab

27 = a^3 - b^3

Subtracting we get,

702 = -27ab

ab = 702/(-27) = -26 is the answer!
